Overview
Literacy Green Bay is dedicated to empowering adults in the Green Bay area by offering comprehensive literacy programs. These include English Language Learner (ELL) classes that develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills at various proficiency levels.
The organization also provides GED and HSED preparation classes in partnership with Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC), supporting adults who wish to earn their high school equivalency credentials.
Through personalized one-on-one tutoring, Literacy Green Bay helps students achieve specific goals such as improving literacy skills, preparing for U.S. citizenship tests, and enhancing workforce readiness. The tutoring program provides curriculum and training for volunteer tutors, fostering community involvement.
The mission focuses on helping adults acquire essential skills in reading, writing, math, English language, computer literacy, and workforce development to enable effective participation in both employment and community life.
Business hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with tutoring rooms available until 8:00 pm on those days. Literacy Green Bay encourages community members to support their cause through donations, volunteering, and corporate sponsorship opportunities.
